The Barcelona – El Prat Airport

The airport has two passenger terminals, terminal T1 and terminal T2. To get to them, there are various public transport lines. For more information visit: the official website of the airport. Here are some of the most useful public transport options:

Aerobus

Aerobus lines  A1 and A2 connect terminals T1 and T2 with Plaza de Espanya and Plaza de Catalunya, from where you can easily transfer to the bus and metro network. If you are travelling from the city to the airport, there are Aerobús ticket sales points at  Punts TMB. You can also buy tickets on the bus.

Renfe local trains

The local train service links the Barcelona airport with other places in Catalonia. The estimated travel time to Passeig de Gràcia is 27 minutes. The airport stop is on line R2 at terminal T2 of El Prat Airport. Trains run every 30 minutes. A one-way ticket costs the normal rate, €2.15.

*Prices valid until rates change

Taxi

There are taxi ranks in front of the arrivals areas at T1, Barcelona-Madrid Corridor, and terminals T2A and T2B. Fares to and from the airport include a supplement of €4.20. The travel time is between 20 and 30 minutes.

If you require a wheelchair-accessible taxi service, you can phone (+34) 934-208-088

Tips

  • Another advantage of taking the N17 or N16 night bus to get to the centre of the city is that you can use a T10 card, unlike the Aerobus service where it is not accepted.
  • The advantage of Aerobús over the normal TMB bus service is that it runs more regularly, provides more space for luggage and stops less often on the way into Barcelona so that the journey time to and from the airport is shorter.
  • You can travel between terminals T1 and T2 with the free Bus Transit shuttle bus service

Girona Airport

The Airport is the second closest airport to Barcelona (approx. 100 kilometres north of Barcelona city). When travelling from Barcelona, you first need to take a short bus ride to the centre of the city of Girona. From there, you can take the tram or bus. There are also special airport buses. Normally, low-cost air companies have buses that run from the Girona and Reus airports to Barcelona. ALSA offers direct bus services.
